Bought this crib from Target for my new niece in January 2009. Within five months, the strips of wood on the bed was divided, leaving huge splinters of wood on the side drop crib. We contacted the company and after some ‘time and paperwork, we received another side to the crib. The finish is very thin chips of paint have continued to come out in huge areas, now the drop side had ceased to function when you think you got it, it will not stop and suddenly slipped into place. What a waste of time, energy, money and security. Buyer Beware!

I can not believe, but this is another product I would give zero stars or negative stars, if possible. My wife usually research these things before buying, but can not explain why he bought it. I mounted my share of shoddy furniture components, but putting the crib together Graco Sarah Classic has been a particularly unfavorable. Anyone rating this experience easier assembly should work for Graco or its subcontractor apparent LaJobi.
My first clue to the challenges I face a full page in the instruction manual in large capital letters. STOP (underlined) If you experience any problems with this product before PLEASE RETURN TO THIS DEALER follow the procedures on the back of this form. These instructions told me to call during office hours or send an e-mail or fax, which I assumed would be a waste of time until I actually started mounting. At one point I really wanted to return the product, but had already discarded the box, and was not even sure if a return is possible. I stumbled through the process without writing or calling.
I felt like the instructions and warning labels had been translated from a foreign language by someone who does not have English as first language (Graco “international team”). For example, I still do not know the meaning of the following “message” IMPORTANT placed on the stretcher bar at the bottom: “Remove the fixed stretcher bar closer to the bottom.” It is important for the assembly or disassembly? While it is important for assembly, it is not in the instruction manual? Some instructions are specific to drop-side cribs, so maybe that part is used in other models and the warning applies to them. The bolt lengths do not exactly match the diagrams provided, perhaps because the model shown is the only example. Styles may vary. I’ve never been able to identify the “metal spring (F) with the cards,” But from the diagram that I must have actually meant a connector attached to the platform support of the metal spring (depending on the unique terminology, I was looking different from others).
While caring for a newborn is not easy to find the time to assemble such a contraption, so the fact that I took the time to write this review should provide an indication of my level of dissatisfaction. I could not imagine approaching 28 screws (eight to three inches in length) with the supplied allen wrench, so I went with an electric drill. My current lack of sleep, caring for a child in connection with the construction of the crib, and the mismatch between the schema and the real part led me to discover only after mounting part that the manufacturer had some holes drilled deep to affix the bolts wrong. Even the pieces that I’m sure I’ve put together correctly does not seem to fit perfectly – some of the barrel nuts were flush with the wood, some were collected, and some protruding from the holes. My next discovery was that the cheap bolts strip easily, leaving shards of metal around the crib in the nursery and making possible future removal impossible to correct. I estimate that the installation, removal partial replacement and took four hours with a power drill – I can not imagine how long it would take the manual wrench.
I recommend purchasing this (or any self-assembly of Graco crib, for that matter) to anyone who is not willing to return after some frustration. If you buy one, I suggest you first check the return policy, keeping the box, giving enough time, and the assembly is before your baby arrives. It is rather large piece of furniture (I think we might be able to get it out of the child without a poker room where the first take off the door jamb), so you probably want to start with this device instead of a cradle and mounting the room where you intend to stay for the duration of its use.
The instructions indicate that one needs a “head” screwdriver (probably to manipulate nuts barrel which, for various angles of approach, it is probably best achieved with two people), but I’m not sure why they also list a screwdriver. I guess two recommended uses for the hammer, one of which would require something more like a rubber mallet, and another that would be more like a sled.
Not yet entirely sure that I assembled correctly, that gives me a great sense of confidence in the bedroom where my baby sleep for more than a year. I feel like the producer has spent more resources for the appearance of the product and marketing on the overall quality. Anyone retrial assembly of highly probable for the seller or other assembled cribs for less. After doing a little research, it seems that Grace just slapped their brand on a product LaJobi, which does not exactly inspire confidence in the Graco (see [...]). I appreciated the message repeated, “Assembly by an adult” (I was the age of thirty years in the Assembly).
In summary, this product features as the race to market and unstoppable to cut production costs and documentation has eliminated much of the quality of consumer products today. Much of my frustration could have been avoided if someone inside the company had actually read and tried to apply and therefore updated the installation instructions. Even before reading this review to 1 star, I was considering the disposal of this thing, but now I have to give serious thought (although I do not remember all the pieces of plastic). For now my baby sleeps in the cot.

I looked for a while ‘cribs for our twin grandbabies. I found the Graco Sarah Convertible Crib in white classic. I was worried it would be difficult to assemble, but to my delight, they were extremely easy to assemble. The facility provided and the instructions were easy to understand. They look wonderful and I’m so happy that I purchased from Amazon. The price was great and shipping. Of course shopping at Amazon for the things we need.

This was a basic white crib, like a simple design, easy to put together. I did only about an hour. It would be easier with two people, obviously. We needed two and were on a budget so that the price was perfect. Delivery was sooner than expected as well. It could not be happier with this purchase. There was a small problem, opening metal insert was too small for the type of screw provided (by a millimeter) in one place. Easy fix by taking part in the hardware store where they were able to repair for $ 4. 00 office.
