I tend to put my son’s butt down first and then gently lower the rest of His body down. That way he Does not feel like he’s falling Necessarily, just Laying back.

I lay my daughter down on her back then help her move to her side. She Seems to like that. If I just put her on her back, she sits up no go. If i put her on her tummy, she rolls up to sit on. .

I remember reading Their legs and body to put down first, and then Their head. That’s the opposite of what I would’ve thought, but it does work better for me. * What’s Worked for me is best to let her fall asleep on me or beside me on the bed. (If it’s on me, she always ends up rolling off into her own space anyway.) I do the arm test: Seeing if she’s asleep enough for her little arm to flop back down when i lift it up. Actually I do not let it flop, cause I feel bad, but if I see there’s Any resistance to me, moving her arm or if it’s totally relaxed. If it’s totally relaxed, she’s asleep enough for me to pick her up and Set her back down in the crib. If she falls asleep on her back, I put her in the crib on her back, if her tummy on, then I put her into the crib on her tummy.
